Two Capitals

If you have a couple of free days and you happen to be in the capital of Greece, walk across the city’s historical center from Acropolis to the Ancient Agora, have a glimpse of the picturesque district of Anafiotika, visit jewelry stores, have lunch at a traditional tavern at the foot of the Acropolis or at one of the fish restaurants of the Athens Riviera at the seaside. In the evening you and your friends can go to a trendy bar in Kolonaki district.

The next day it’s time to see the Bride of the Thermaic Gulf, Thessaloniki City, located 500 km to the north of Athens. Its main attractions include the White Tower, the historical district of Ano Poli, the Aristotelous Square, the Arch of Galerius, the Church of Saint Demetrius, and the new beach promenade. Order the famous bougatsa for breakfast and then head for Tsimiski and Mitropoleos streets to do some shopping. When you are tired of trying those beautiful clothes on and feel hungry, experience the local cuisine in Ladadika district. Having fun at a night club with local young people could be a great option to finish the day.
